Welcoming our new foster, Motörhead ⚙️🪚!

This sweet, vocal boy has a possible neurological condition affecting his movement. On his very first day at home, he was already winning hearts—making biscuits, begging for head rubs, and asking for more food. His wobbles don’t slow him down at all! 🐾💕

Did you know adoption rates at local shelters have dropped by up to 50% since 2022? Groups like @asdsingapore only saw 42 adoptions in the first half of 2023 compared to 148 the year before. @luni_singapore reported a 40% drop in cat adoptions, with just 240 cats finding homes in 2023.

Meanwhile, abandonment and surrender cases are rising. @nparks_avs reported 310 animal abandonment cases in 2022, up from around 230–250 in previous years. Many shelters are full or have had to pause intake, and hundreds more animals are still waiting for help 😿.

Until vets provide a clear diagnosis, he finds his permanent home, or the shelter can take him in for adoption, Motörhead has a place to call home 🤍.

Motörhead is back at the shelter and currently available for adoption and fostering! Meanwhile, we’ve taken in a new foster who is still hiding.

Meet Motörhead, a wobbly-legged sweetheart with a big voice and an even bigger heart. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy, his condition affects mobility and coordination but is non-progressive.

He is:

  • Affectionate and vocal, loves gentle pats and attention

  • Best as a single pet household (doesn’t get along with other animals)

  • Litter trained, but may need help accessing trays; large, shallow trays work best

  • Needs special feeding: pecks at his food, prefers low silicone bowls, and benefits from added water

He also enjoys soft spots, hiding under tables, and playing with feather wands. Motörhead needs a calm, patient adopter to steady him while he eats, respond to his meows, and shower him with love.
